Hijacked exotic spice truck recovered by police

The driver was apparently dropped off in Olifantsfontein before the truck was driven back to the Honeydew policing area.

Police have recovered an exotic spice truck that was hijacked in Muldersdrift this morning (May 13).

Spokesperson, Captain Balan Muthan said the truck was hijacked around 02:00. “A truck containing spices… was recovered by members of SAPS Honeydew, with part of the goods still intact in the truck in the Honeydew policing area,” he said.

Muthan added that he could not say where the truck was recovered because this is an ongoing investigation.

“Honeydew members received information, followed up on this information and recovered the truck – an Isuzu 600 looking virtually brand new – and some of the hijacked goods.”

Muthan said the driver was apparently dropped off by hijackers in Olifantsfontein and the truck was brought back to the Honeydew policing area.
