Close to 1 200 pamphlets were distributed to motorists in a joint cross-border crime operation on February 23.
Stakeholders involved in the operation included JMPD, Douglasdale Police Station, Douglasdale CPF (community policing forum), gender-based violence brigades, various security companies, neighbourhood watches and Honeydew Police Station.
Captain Mpho Tshetlhane, Douglasdale Police Station spokesperson said the operation took place along the corner of Malibongwe Drive and Witkoppen Road and thanked all those who were involved. “The purpose was to raise awareness on hijackings, theft of/out of motor vehicle, gender-based violence and common robberies happening around the area.”
