High school learners have a great year at Radley Private School

FERNDALE – School celebrates its year promoting entrepreneurship through various programmes.

The high school section at Radley Private School has had a productive year.

Principal, Yulandi Noëth writes:

I am so incredibly proud of the progress we have made at Radley High Private School this year.

We have improved our academic offering and entrepreneurship programme. As an entrepreneurial school, we expose our learners (or entrepreneurs, as we like to call them) to the language and concepts of entrepreneurship throughout their education. Entrepreneurship is integrated across the curriculum and entrepreneurship is also a separate subject.

This year brought many changes. We launched our Kickstart programme, which involves daily morning group activities chosen by our entrepreneurs. This gives them a chance to fuel their creativity and explore activities they ordinarily might not do. Activities this year included a comic book club, newspaper, book club and breakfast show. We also launched our Grade 11 leadership camp which will become an annual event.

After the restrictions of the past two years, it was great to take our entrepreneurs out of the school environment and into nature. Our Grade 11 entrepreneurs also paid a visit to Raizcorp, a top business incubator, and learned more about real-life entrepreneurship from the CEO Allon Raiz. Another highlight was our matric farewell – a glamorous evening indeed. Our isiZulu educator was selected to participate in the marking guidelines discussions for the Grade 12 isiZulu paper one. This is an honour for any educator.

Perhaps our biggest achievement of the year is our move to the Independent Examinations Board system in the new year.

As we look forward to our adventures next year, we would like to thank our parents, guardians, entrepreneurs and staff for their support this year. Their dedication to our school has been phenomenal. From all the staff at Radley Private School, we wish you a well-deserved rest this holiday season.
