Softball players make provincial team

SUNDOWNER – School wishes learners well after they are selected for Gauteng softball team.

Curro Aurora is proud of its softball players who have been selected for the Gauteng U15 team that will play in the Summer Games National Schools Championship in December.

Ameerah Hank and Zoe Pestana follow in the footsteps of many Curro Aurorians who have represented provincial and district teams at high and primary school level.

The Curro Aurora High School first and U15 teams play in the Johannesburg Softball Association Summer League.

The first team has won all their league matches since 2014 and the U15s have won most of their games.

The primary school has a senior team including U13s and U12s, a junior team of U11s and U10s, and an U9 team.

Executive head at the school, JC Engelbrecht said these achievements were the result of hard work put in by the teachers and coaches who, despite the impact of Covid-19, ensured that no leaner was left behind and that the school continuously creates opportunities for learners to participate in and excel in the activity of their choice.
