DA’s Emi Koekemoer claims win in Ward 104

FERNDALE – DA claims it has retained Ward 104. Emi Koekemoer thanks residents for voting for her as Ward councillor.

DA councillor, Emi Koekemoer has won Ward 104 at this year’s local government elections, according to the party’s calculations.

The Ward covers Fontainebleau, Ferndale, Malanshof and surrounding areas.

Koekemoer would take over from retiring councillor, Mike Wood, who served as Ward 104 councillor for 10 years (two terms).

Wood has publicly endorsed Koekemoer and wished her well.

This after the preliminary vote count for the ward was completed, and party agents said they found the majority win for the DA too great for a re-count to change the winner.

“I can confirm that we have retained ward 104 with a strong majority,” she told Randburg Sun.

“I would like to thank all the Residents of ward 104 for their vote of confidence in electing me to serve them for the next five years. My first priority is to set up a means to communicate with the community. You can follow me on Twitter @Emi_Koekemoer or on Facebook @EmiKoekemoer104 for inaugural updates and subsequent service delivery updates. I will share my email and WhatsApp line in due course. Let’s get things done ward 104.”

The IEC has not verified the results of this ward. Preliminary results are based on the work of party agents at the vote count, and their political parties in determining acceptable margins at which to call a win initially.
