Rand Park says goodbye to Mrs Stansell

RANDPARK RIDGE – Stansell quickly became what many people referred to as the 'school mom' and she worked closely with staff and learners for many years.

Learners and teachers at Rand Park High School gave one of their favourite staff members a fond farewell as she retired.

Ros Stansell joined the school more than 20 years ago and worked in the tuck shop on a part-time basis before she was appointed as a member of the administrative team.

Stansell quickly became what many people referred to as the ‘school mom’ and she worked closely with staff and learners for many years.

She was involved with providing secretarial and admin support to the grade tutors; supported school admissions for many years; ran special events; as well as the coordination of the very successful debutantes and squires’ fundraising portfolio.

Stansell contributed a great deal to various extracurricular activities and led many of the sports teams to success, most notably netball where she headed the netball portfolio at the school prior to the Covid-19 lockdown. She also worked closely with senior swimming and athletics teams in years gone by.

Stansell was very committed to Rand Park High School and this was evident by the send-off she received when the senior learners and staff formed a farewell tunnel along the school corridors for her to walk through to bid her farewell.

She was also thanked for her invaluable contribution to the school by principal Alan Wilke, at a retirement farewell which was attended by staff on her final day of service.
