Malema’s case postponed to July
FERNDALE – EFF leader and member of parliament must wait for July for their common assault case to continue.
EFF leader Julius Malema and MP Mbuyiseni Ndlozi will return to the Randburg Magistrates’ Court in July to face charges of common assault. They appeared in court on 10 March but the case had been postponed to 1 and 2 July for the State to find more witnesses.
This after their previous appearance was in October last year. The Economic Freedom Fighters pair were involved in a scuffle with Lieutenant Colonel Johannes Jacobus Venter during the funeral of struggle stalwart Winnie Madikizela-Mandela at Fourways Memorial Park in April 2018.
Two witnesses who were questioned on 10 March where retired police officer Colonel Charles Seanego and Deon Klingbiel, the former operational manager at the memorial park. There is also video footage of the incident.
