Light motor vehicle kills 27-year-old in Kya Sand
KYA SAND – The driver of the vehicle, fortunately, escaped injury.
ER24 paramedics responded to reports of an incident in Kya Sand that left a 27-year-old man dead Wednesday night, 18 November when he was struck by a light motor vehicle on Malibongwe Drive.
ER24 spokesperson Russell Meiring said that when ER24 paramedics arrived at the scene they found the body of a man lying on the centre median. The light motor vehicle that had struck the man was found parked a short distance away.
“Medics assessed the man and found that he had sustained numerous injuries and showed no signs of life. Nothing could be done for him, and he was declared dead,” explained Meiring.
Meiring said the driver of the vehicle, fortunately, escaped injury.
‘The details surrounding this incident are not yet known, but local authorities were on the scene for further investigations,” concluded Meiring.
