Grade R Orientation Day at Cooper College

NORTH RIDING – At the beginning of November, Cooper College's Grade R teachers hosted the Magic Beings Nursery School's Group 5 children.

At the beginning of November, Cooper College’s Grade R teachers hosted the Magic Beings Nursery School’s Group 5 children.

The Group 5s will begin Grade R, their final year of pre-school, in January next year, and so the school felt this day was an integral part of the school calendar. The Group 5 learners enjoyed the orientation day which prepared them for Grade R next year.

The day was filled with excitement and enthusiasm from both the children and teachers alike who, despite the current restrictions, were able to make the day a memorable one.

The children played musical statues, had stories read to them, danced, went on a tour of the foundation phase and even had a surprise visit from Thunder, the school’s mascot.

Executive head Hesna Müller said, “It is an important milestone in the lives of our little ones. The eagerness in the eyes of this group of children as they complete each task with boldness is truly contagious.

“We know that our Group 5 children are ready to tackle Grade R with vigour and passion. We cannot wait for the new year to start in order to welcome them into the world of the Cambridge Assessment International Examination difference.”
