Multiple-vehicle collision leaves five injured in North Riding

NORTH RIDING – According to Emer-G-Med, the brakes of a minibus taxi failed and caused a multi-vehicle collision.


Emer-G-Med responded to a multiple-vehicle collision at on the corner of Malibongwe Drive and Kapital Street in North Riding on 7 August at around 7.30am.

According to Emer-G-Med, the collision involved two minibuses and a truck that were travelling in the same direction. “Everyone started braking for a red robot. One taxi lost his brakes and crashed into another taxi, that taxi then hit a truck,” said Caitlin Kruger, a member f the Emer-G-Med team.

There was a total of five patients who sustained mild to moderate injuries. On arrival, Emer-G-Med treated and transported two patients while others were transported by other services, to a nearby hospital for further care.

All relevant authorities were on the scene.
