Randburg firearm licencing placed on hold for now

Those who wish to renew their firearm licences, firearm certificates, and processing applications are free to use the Honeydew, Douglasdale, Linden or Sandton police stations in the interim.

The Randburg Police Station would like to inform the public that certification around firearms will have to be done at other police stations due to the absence of their financial administration for the next few weeks.

“As the firearm certification is a popular service at our station, we have had to, unfortunately, turn away many who seek this certification as payment cannot be processed at this stage. We will be able to commence with this service once our finance administration returns,” said station spokesperson Captain Makgowanyana Maja.

“It is highly important to have your firearm licensed and certified at all times, especially if you carry it on your person. Not only is certification important for your safety, but it can also help us to track the firearm in the event it is stolen or used in a crime. I encourage the public to make use of other stations for their licencing during this time,” concluded Maja.

Maja added that the public will be informed once firearm licencing at the Randburg Police Station will recommence.
