Honeydew Police Station temporarily closed due to Covid-19

HONEYDEW – The police station has been closed temporarily after a staff member tested positive for Covid-19.

The Honeydew Police Station has been closed temporarily after one of its members tested positive for Covid-19 on 3 July.

Spokesperson for the station Captain Balan Muthan said that the police station has been temporarily closed for decontamination and deep cleaning. The community may still visit the centre as the Community Service Centre will be operating from the old operations room located in the finance block. “The telephone lines at our station’s Community Service Centre will not be accessible for the duration of the closure, but the head of uniform branch number is available on 082 576 4989,” said Muthan.

“The building will be undergoing decontamination and the community will be informed when the station will be operational again. The station’s management apologises for any inconvenience that may arise from this, but these precautions are necessary.” The community is advised to call 10111 for all complaints and emergencies that need to be attended by Honeydew Police Station, and the station commander can be contacted on 082 778 9065.
