Not a single hour of teaching has been lost at Cooper College

The school has even gone over and above for their learners by adding virtual extramural activities, virtual aftercare, as well as 'e-vents'.

As schools are not quite back in full swing yet, remote learning provides the perfect opportunity for learners and teachers to not be physically present in a traditional classroom environment.

This is a proud service that Cooper College has been offering its learners since the beginning of the lockdown period. The school’s Lee Coetzee said no learner had been left behind by relaying information through means of technology via the Microsoft Teams platform. “Our teachers continuously share pre-recorded materials, conduct live lessons and monitor progression via online interaction. We have followed a combination of methods to deliver work to our learners, such as synchronous and asynchronous lessons,” she said.Coetzee added that this made provision for live interaction and collaboration, as well as providing an opportunity for learners to complete activities at their own pace and at a convenient time for their specific household routine.

The school has even gone over and above for their learners by adding virtual extramural activities, virtual aftercare, as well as ‘e-vents’. Coetzee said this was implemented to allow their learners to interact with one another in an informal and fun way. “We have also included weekly virtual tours to places all around the world to add to our global educational experience as a Cambridge Assessment International Education school.

This has been enjoyed tremendously by our learners and their families.”She added that the school would like to commend their teachers and learners who were always up for a challenge during this time, whether it was academically, virtually or accessing their social media such as Facebook. “Our staff members are actively busy getting the school ready to welcome our learners back at school in a safe environment. “We are proud of all personnel who have displayed passion and commitment to the best interest of our learners during these uncharted times. “Our admissions remain open if you need to move your child.”
