Kenneth Bongolo sets his sights on MR SA title

WINDSOR WEST – local resident, Kenneth Bongolo, hopes that just like him, you find your own success in the world.

Meet Kenneth Bongolo, a 25-year-old exuberant, ambitious man, who hopes to affect change in the world one dazzling smile at a time.

With origins from both Martinique and the Democratic Republic of Congo, this public relations student is fluent in French, with his charisma and effortless charm it is no surprise his mother tongue is one of the romance languages.

The model enthusiast is part of the ensemble of participants who are taking part in Mr South Africa and he looks forward to travelling to New York City in July to take part in the International Modelling and Talent Association competition. While there, he hopes to take home big prizes based on his acting and modelling abilities.

Growing up, the Windsor West resident had many aspirations and dreams he wanted to come to fruition in his lifetime some of those are being an influential leader, seeing his face as he paged through magazines and taking care of himself because for him, looking good is important. It should come as no surprise then that his best attributions are his confidence and courage. When asked what his typical day is like, his response was quite simply, “A happy day is my most typical day.”

In his spare time, he loves to read, exercise and spend time with his family. Kenneth is currently an ambassador for the Chanel Company. In five years he hopes to be a loving husband and father, ‘living in a stable home and leading the family to greater heights all while being a leader’.

In the five years thereafter, he sees himself owning his own motivational organisation to, as he explained, motivate people to pursue their dreams. “Even though life doesn’t always agree with how we feel down in the inside.”

Ever wondered what attributes the Mr South Africa competition look for in a man? Well, Kenneth Bongolo thinks he knows the answer to this question, in fact, he looks at that answer every day as he looks in the mirror.

He explained the competition prides itself on being a fair to all entrants, regardless of background or ethnicity. “The competition looks for qualities such as compassion, integrity, humility, motivation and determination.”

These are traits he boldly believes he encompasses because, as he explained, the brand aims to find a winner that will serve the country as a role model for younger generations. “This is a way to create a symbol of hope, equality and diversity while showcasing our beautiful nation and its calibre on international stages.”

To be part of the competition, Kenneth was scouted by Mr SA and gladly accepted the opportunity to be a part of it as he firmly believes he is what they are looking for, and can become the country’s best brand ambassador. What excites him most about this contest is the prospect of meeting new people and networking with formidable individuals. “You learn a lot about each other.” To prepare for the event, he shared that he is perfecting his brand via social media and strengthening of his character.

His family and friends are excited about this journey he will follow and said this is another way of him showing them that with the right attitude, the pursuit of their dreams is possible. He also shared that the reception he has received from the community is extremely exciting.

“People should vote for me because I love people, don’t see colour, don’t see background, don’t see wealth but all I see are people created by the very same God made in His perfect image,” concluded Kenneth.

Although the world might be his oyster, Kenneth Bongolo has set his sights on conquering the Big Apple first.

In July he plans to fly off to New York City to participate in the International Modelling and Talent Association competition. There he hopes to stun judges and audiences alike through his modelling and acting skills. After a friend introduced him to modelling and being his agency to acting, he knew he was on the correct path.

What fascinates him about acting is the ability to play different characters and become them. While with modelling, the idea that people can get the recognition they deserve even with varying sizes interests him.

Kenneth explained the International Modelling and Talent Association is the place where the world’s top model and talent agents, as well as managers and casting directors come to find new faces. “The association offers unique performance and educational opportunities for aspirant models, actors, singers, dancers and songwriters to showcase their skills and learn from the industry professionals who can get their career started.”

After participating in the International Arts Showcase last September, he was one of the contestants chosen to go the USA for what he calls the biggest modelling convention in the world. “This convention will definitely expose talents to the right eyes and it’ll teach us more about the industry and this will take our careers to a whole new level.”

To prepare for the event he has been exercising, researching more about the event as well as learn more about the competition’s success stories such as Ashton Kutcher and Ava Castro. His biggest wish at the competition is to learn as much as he can about his chosen fields and bring that knowledge back to the country so he can educate his community about what’s required of you to become a model or actor.

To vote for Kenneth SMS MRSA32 to 40439.
