Okae Molau is a success at Honeydew and Cosmo City

NORTHGATE – During Operation Okae Molau on 12 March, 2 247 persons and 982 vehicles were searched.


After Operation Okae Molau kicked-off on 12 March, Johannesburg District Police enjoyed great successes during the operation.

Randburg Police Station Captain Makgowanyana Maja said, “We had a highly successful weekend of operations that focused on the Honeydew area and Cosmo City.”

He said that 2 247 persons and 982 vehicles were searched during stop-and-search operations, with 219 traffic fines issued and four suspects arrested for being in possession of stolen vehicles.

He also said that 80 undocumented immigrants from the Cosmo City and Kya Sand area were taken in for processing with the Department of Home Affairs.

Six tuck shops were also raided for operating without a licence. “As it was very much an effort with a large number of officers joining us from across the city, we would like to thank all stations, clusters, officers and their management for all the help in ensuring that this operation was successful,” concluded Maja.
