Spar Carols by Candlelight moves indoors

JOBURG - Spar Carols by Candlelight with Jacaranda FM will now take place indoors due to the wet weather.

The annual Spar Carols by Candlelight with Jacaranda FM will still be bringing the Christmas spirit to St. Stithians College in Joburg this evening (7 December) at 7pm despite the wet weather .

The event will now be an acoustic version taking place at the prep school’s Dace Hall. Capacity is limited to 1000 people and guests are advised to arrive early. Gates will open at 4pm.

Top acts include Tarryn Lamb, Roan Ash, Swing City, Matthew Mole, Lira, Rubber Duc, Paxton, The Soweto Gospel Choir and the The Ndlovu Youth Choir. It will be a highlight on the festive season calendar.

Entry is free, but those who attend are encouraged to bring along new toys, which will be donated to selected charity organisations to spread the festive love to where it’s needed most.

Those who wish to drop off toys without attending the concert, or those who can’t gain access to the venue once capacity has been reached, but still wish to donate toys, are encouraged to do so. Drop-off points will be available at the gates.

Leith Smith, Jacaranda FM’s Marketing Manager, said, “Given the rainy conditions, and with possible thunderstorms in the area, we had to place the health and safety of our listeners and staff first and move the Johannesburg event indoors. It’s guaranteed to be a magical, acoustic evening for the whole family, filled with all your favourite festive tunes, performed by some of SA’s most loved artists in a warm and more intimate setting – the perfect way to drive away the wet and cold!”
