An angel’s wishlist

PRESIDENT RIDGE – The Angels Reintegration Centre for Ladies needs your help to continue running a tight ship.

The Angels Reintegration Centre for Ladies hosted a fundraiser in the first week of November. One of the non-profit’s owners and director Carmen Gerhardt detailed some of the needs the organisation has where she spoke on how she did not want to be in a situation where she would have to turn anyone away due to lack of resources.

These are the items on the organisation’s wish list:

  • Weekly fresh produce – “We like to keep our ladies healthy.”
  • Protein (poultry, fish, meat and soya) – “Our ladies would love to cook fresh foods.”
  • Toiletries (tampons, shampoo, conditioner, body lotion and ‘things that make them feel pretty’) – “Our ladies have an abundance of other personal hygiene items.”
  • Cleaning supplies – “As our ladies like to keep their home spic and span.”
  • Toilet paper
  • Washing powder – “When our ladies smell fresh, they feel fresh.”
  • Bed linen
  • Cat food – “To feed our feral friends and to keep our feral cat colony programme running.”
  • Braai
  • Refuse removal
  • Printer cartridges, stationery, arts and crafts
  • Drug-screening tests
  • First-aid supplies
  • Washing machine
  • Christmas gifts and goodies
  • Motor vehicle – “For daily assistance, wouldn’t that be something!”
