Honeydew police’s Echo Squad drives fight against crime

HONEYDEW – The Honeydew Police Station is making progress in the fight against crime in the Honeydew policing area.


The Honeydew Police Station’s group of specialised crime officers, dubbed the Echo Squad, are making vigorous inroads in the fight against crime in the Honeydew policing area.

According to the station spokesperson Captain Balan Muthan, the Echo Squad recently arrested three suspects for house robbery, five suspects for malicious intent to vandalise council property, one suspect for fraud and another suspect for assault with intent to do grievous bodily harm.

“The police members of the Echo Squad are forming an integral part of making the Honeydew a safer area for all. We as a station are proud of their recent achievements.”

He also added that as the festive season is fast approaching, crime always increases in the area.

The squad will form an integral part of the station’s festive period plan to reduce crime in the Honeydew policing area, helping numerous operations.

He further encouraged residents to be vigilant of crime over this time and report suspected crimes to their local police station.
