“Dancing is not just moving your feet and arms, it’s dancing with the soul,” said Faryl Posnik, the sole proprietor of Faryl’s Dance Academy.
Faryl’s Dance Academy used their flair to raise funds for our four-legged friends. On 24 November, the academy held its Talent Showcase at the Blairgowrie Recreational Centre and raised funds by selling tickets.

The showcase consisted of 40 youngsters who displayed their artistic and musical abilities, with age groups between seven and 17.
The showcase performances included tap dancing, contemporary, jazz, hip-hop, ballet, rhythmic gymnastics and musical theatre. They also featured musicians and songstresses.
“This was a non-profit venture and the money raised will be donated to animal charities,” said Posnik.
Posnik decided to hold a fundraiser for animal charities because she did a show some years back and donated the funds to animal charities.
Since then she’s been receiving a lot of feedback from charities in desperate need of donations.

“I asked the children what they thought about a fundraiser for the animals and they all said, yes. I think they presented themselves well while entertaining the audience. I thought the little violinist was absolutely delightful,” said Posnik.
Posnik believes that every time the performers perform on stage they improve. “It’s a way to showcase their talents and to teach them performance quality.”
