Applicants reminded to collect clearance certificates

LINDEN – The police are reminding the community to collect their clearance certificates at relevant stations.

Constable Takalani Mutumba, spokesperson for the Linden Police Station is reminding members of the community who applied for police clearance certificates to please collect them.

“After the application, the applicant will receive an SMS to say the application has been received and will then receive a second SMS saying the application has been finalised,” said Matumba.

Upon receiving the second SMS the applicant will need to visit the relevant station to collect their certificate.

The reason why the station is reminding people to come and collect their certificates on time is that the stations are sitting with large numbers of clearance certificates at their offices and by the time the applicant decides to collect the certificates, they will have expired and the applicant will be forced the reapply.

Constable Mutumba said, “This office is again reminding applicants that the certificate is no longer valid for six months and now is only valid for three months.”
