Unplanned power outage a result of a faulty Randburg substation

A Randburg substation has switched off leaving a number of suburbs in the dark this morning.

Areas affected include:

• Strijdom Park
• Bromhof
• Ferndale
• Boskruin
• Randpark Ridge
• Boschkop
• Randview

According to City Power, the cause of the problem is not yet known. However, technicians  are on site and updates will be available to all residents.

OUTAGE UPDATE (1/2): Dear @CityofJoburgZA residents, please note that Randburg Substation is currently off due to a cause unknown yet. The following areas are affected by this:
Strydom Park
Bomhof
Fernadale
Boskruin
Rand Park Ridge
Boschkop

(2/2) Technicians have been dispatched to the fault. We will communicate an update regarding the specific cause of the power outage as well as the progress of restoration as soon as we receive new information from the team allocated.^SK

• Northcliff Ext 6  and 12
• Risidale
• Fairland West
• Emmarentia Ext 1
• Linden
• Victory Park.
