Lighthouse Baby Shelter – how you can help this Father’s Day

RANDBURG – Are you not really the Potjiekos king, but still want to help? Well then, this one is for you!

As you all know by now, Randburg Sun, together with Northwold Spar is hosting a potjiekos competition to celebrate all of our outstanding dads this Father’s Day.

All funds raised will go towards The Lighthouse Baby Shelter, a staple charity doing amazing work in the Randburg area.

If you are not able to participate in our competition, but would still like to assist the shelter, donations can be dropped off at Randburg Sun’s offices – 1187 Cornelius Street, Weltevreden Park.

The shelter is in need of any and all baby supplies, including, but not limited to:

  • Nappies (all sizes)
  • Wet wipes
  • Baby creams
  • Baby shampoos
  • Baby powder
  • Baby oil
  • Baby and toddler appropriate foods
  • Cleaning products
  • Disposable gloves
  • Teething gel
  • Dettol
  • Plasters
  • Mosquito repellent

Our Potjiekos competition will take place on 16 June, from 8am at Northwold Junction. Community members are welcome to pop by to say hi, and enjoy a fabulous day out with the family, in the warm winter sunshine.

Entries are still open, at a cost of R200, which will be donated to the Lighthouse Baby Shelter.

Enter at Northwold Junction or at the Randburg Sun’s Weltevreden Park offices.
