Ward 102 councillor shows the state of his ward
RANDBURG – Ward 102 councillor, David Potter conducted a state of the ward tour across his ward to better understand the challenges and good work being done in Randburg.
Ward 102 councillor, David Potter conducted a state of the ward tour to better understand the challenges and good work being done at council facilities, departments and on the ground by City officials and others on 14 February.
The tour provided a great insight and provided him the opportunity to escalate issues of concern to the City political and administrative executive.
During the tour, Potter posted a series of tweets.
#stateofward102tour @MyJRA hard at work resurfacing Hill Street in Ferndale. Many streets across the City in need of this. Such requires time & lots of money. Furthermore, city wide challenges exist where Joburg Water digs and JRA isn’t fixing, this has been escalated. @nhli1964 pic.twitter.com/5oAumYzEz2

#stateofward102tour This intersection until recently had a massive sinkhole. @MyJRA has fixed the damage, upgraded the pavement, sidewalks and the road has been resurfaced. Much more of this major upgrade work is needed across the City and will take time. pic.twitter.com/4zm21brtPp

Potter said, “Whilst there are still many challenges in the city, matters are being addressed and receiving the attention of a busy City executive. Turning this city around is going to take time and money. If it was that easy, it would have been done already,” said Potter.
“You are welcome to engage with myself on any matters of ward concern, but as I have mentioned before, please do so with some respect.
Residents at times are frustrated, and unfairly and unnecessarily take this out on councillors who, like me, are working above and beyond to ensure the City executive delivers within the available resources and related budgets.”
Potter encouraged concerned residents to view the series of tweets and voice their concerns by using the Twitter hashtag #stateofward102tour and to continue to look for, log and escalate their issues.
