Jade Dave-Midlane is currently taking a well-deserved break in Australia after working tirelessly to achieve her six distinctions and be the overall top achiever in her grade.

The Independent Examinations Board’s (IEB) matric results were released on 3 January.

Mum Michelle Dave said, “This is the most incredibly happy news we have ever received. Jade has put in 13 years of hard work and support she has received from Curro has been amazing.”

Jade is the first-ever recipient of the Allan Gray/Jakes Gerwell fellowship since it was founded and will be studying accounting science and education at the University of Pretoria.

The Randburg Sun spoke to Jade after the IEB results were released.

She said, “I am so excited to start studying and work on starting my career. I am so grateful to have received the fellowship award… I aim to study accounting science and then move into teaching after that.”

Jade has been at Curro Aurora since starting at the pre-primary school when she was two and a half years old.

Curro Aurora’s academic head, Dion Kotze said, “We are so proud of Jade and all of our top achievers and we wish them a prosperous future.”

Jade achieved her distinctions in Afrikaans (92 per cent), business science (89 per cent), economics (89 per cent), English (91 per cent), life orientation (89 per cent) and life science (87 per cent).
