Help a cat in need

NORTH RIDING – Fourways Vet Hospital sends a call to all animal lovers to adopt an abandoned cat.

Could you be the perfect companion to an abandoned cat that survived by himself for several months?

Fourways Vet Hospital hopes so.

On 18 November the cat was brought in after it was hit by a car in the North Riding residential complex it roamed.

“One of the residents at the complex brought the cat to the vet,” said practice manager, Amanda Pybus. She added that the cat sustained major head trauma and his eye had to be removed.

Apparently, the cat had caused some problems in the complex and Pybus advised that when residents find abandoned cats in their complexes they should have them sterilised and if they feed them, the should do so in one location all the time.

“It is very important that a cat is sterilised as this could ward off diseases.” Also, unneutered male cats have a tendency to cause problems.

“Even with all this he has been through he is still so loving and friendly, it breaks my heart to see him like this.”

The vet, who has offered to pay all surgical costs and vaccinations for the cat, is now asking that one kind person come forward and give the cat a home he so deserves.
