Business Expo in North Riding goes live and you’re invited
NORTH RIDING – Meet business owners just like yourself.
The Buy a Business Expo, which brings together entrepreneurs and investors who are looking to grow and diversify their businesses, began on 31 August at the Ticketpro Dome.
The three-day expo, which will run until 2 September, provides a platform for business owners to market themselves to potential partners and investors.
Businesses showcased at the expo range from catering companies, digital services, banking, appliance services, and many other small- to medium-sized businesses. The expo, which is hosted by Reed Exhibitions, is in its 7th year and does not seem to be slowing down judging by the number of stalls rented by businesses and the amount of attendees at the event.
The launch of the expo was facilitated by media personality Hulisani Ravele.
She welcomed all stakeholders and hosted the opening address. Ravele then called on keynote speakers Xhanti Payi, Sylvester Chauke and Marang Marekimane to share their opinions and advice on matters such as their current outlook on the economy, biggest risks facing business in South Africa, and what business owners can learn from the recession.
Payi, head of research at Nascence Advisory and Research, expressed his joy on how business owners are optimistic about their abilities even when the economic climate is not too welcoming to new and small businesses.
Chauke, chief architect at DNA Brand Architects, said the biggest challenge with starting a business is the support received and sustaining it. A lack of doing this results in the failure of many businesses.
Marekimane, founder of Business Process Mechanics said, “Solving solutions for the masses is one of the best ways businesses can sustain themselves. They need to be creative when servicing people during tough times.”
Seminars at the expo provide small business owners with advice on how they can grow their businesses. Workshops will also be hosted to give practical advice on how to deal with business-related issues and problems.
Tickets are available at R65 per person and the expo is open from 9am to 5pm.
