R6 300 raised for SPCA Randburg

HONEYDEW – It's all about helping the animals and what better way than by winning a prize yourself.

The Ngwenya Country Market and Fare graciously hosted their birthday market in aid of the Randburg SPCA .

Lots of hungry and curious shoppers made their way to the market on 6 August. A heavenly assortment of amazingly delicious and ever so tempting food stalls sold their delicacies such as pulled pork, bacon doughnuts, vegan fudge and even sushi.

The market also boasted dozens of stalls selling a variety of items from bird feeders to recycled sandals.

The market celebrated its one year birthday and asked that everyone who attended to show their support for the Randburg SPCA. The team of animal lovers ran a huge raffle with lots of prizes up for grabs and each store donated a fantastic prize to the SPCA. R20 got attendees a ticket number in the draw.

Thanks to the kind generosity of the community, Randburg SPCA managed to raise R6 300 for the animals. Visitors also donated bags full of dog food and blankets for the fur-children.

“Thank you so much to Ngwenya for making their birthday all about us,” said Randburg SPCA management committee member Charmaine Rowlands.

“We are so blown away by the awesome support shown by the community and the vendors who donated prizes today. Without the public’s support, we could not continue to help the animals they way we do.”
