MUST READ: SAPS confirms 10111 call centre strike

JOBURG – Extra police officers have been deployed to call centres.

The South African Police Service  head office released a statement on their Facebook page confirming that they are aware of the strike action by Public Service Act employees attached to 10111 centres nationwide.

On 18 July the unit said, “It is a protected strike and ‘no work no pay’ applies.”

Contingency plans have already been implemented and police members will perform duties at the 10111 centres countrywide.

 

“This is an essential service and there is a Constitutional imperative to ensure that essential services are provided to our communities.”

Honeydew police spokesperson Captain Balan Muthan said, “Honeydew will be covered by extra members to man the telephone lines.”
