New refurbishments for children’s home

Miracle Mission Children’s Home celebrated its newly refurbished home which they plan to make a place of solace for even more children who are in need of a safe environment.

On 9 June, a small number of people gathered at the home to see the four newly renovated bedrooms, four new cots and new tiling in the home.

Founder of the home, Glynis Sack said the home had been running for the past 17 years in Kensington B and took in children who had either been abandoned, abused or neglected along with those that have been infected with HIV. “This is a home for children before they find permanent placement,” said Sack. She runs the home with her sister, Cindy Sproat, who is a trained nurse.

Sack explained that the home was started from a dream she had in 1989.

“In the dream, God spoke to me and said you are going to open the home for children.” It was exactly 10 years later that her dream came to fruition and with the assistance of her sister, it came to be what it now is.

“The community can be proud of this home in their neighbourhood. We are a small home, not many have heard of us, but they can get involved and assist, so give your heart to the community.”
