Another truck load of community support for Knysna fire victims

LITTLE FALLS – Communities work with Caxton for a collaborative cause.

Disaster is a great motivator for community collaboration.
This was made evident by the massive amount of donations from community members which poured into the Caxton Greater Joburg North Weltevreden Park office.

Community members heeded the call for donations of every kind for the victims of the fires that ravaged Knysna and surrounds over the past week. By 1pm, the reception was filled to the rafters with other rooms being used to store the abundance of items donated.
Calwyn and Kerry Costa arrived at the offices with a trailer full of clothes and a large vehicle with an array of contributions. Costa explained that the idea came from their 12-year-old son. He began collecting survivor items for the victims through his website and mini business.

Inspired by his generosity, the couple spread awareness to the communities of Little Falls and Strubens Valley. From Friday to Sunday, an enormous amount of support was shown.
The Caxton office is now full with items such as baby and feminine products, brand new and secondhand blankets, bedding, clothes, toys and food items.
Donations can be dropped of at the Caxton offices on 1187 Cornelius Street in Weltevreden Park or in Craighall at 368 Jan Smuts Avenue during working hours.
