In collaboration with Robyn Wienand, founder and CEO of Play with a Purpose trading as Preschools 4 Africa, the team organised a morning for the Grade Rs of Rainbow Drift Preschool to visit the SPCA in Randburg.
Preschools 4 Africa is an early childhood development non-profit organisation and programme geared towards children’s early educational development and teachers who play a significant role in enhancing their development.
Choosing the SPCA in Randburg to visit, gave the Grade Rs the opportunity to experience the love, playfulness and what it takes to care for a pet in a secure and safe environment.

Upon arrival, Lesley Smit, SPCA Randburg’s inspector controller, took the children and adults on a very informative educational tour of the premises and the setup. Leading up to their tour around the SPCA, the group collected much-needed blankets, animal food, cat litter and pet toys. Clothing, shoes and household items were collected for the charity as well as cash donations from the children and staff.
“We are working to expose our community’s children to the wonders of unconditional love and nurturing pets; [and it] brings us another step closer to uplifting these communities for the future of our country,” said Wienand.
