Residents receive professional services on Community Day in Windsor

WINDSOR EAST – Scores of residents from Windsor East and West attended the Community Day where they received professional services for free.

Audiologists, social workers and counsellors, legal advisers and career counsellors were among professionals who provided services to residents of Windsor East on Community Day.

This event was held at Windsor Recreation Centre on 20 May by New Creation Family Church in partnership with Oasis Haven and other local churches and non-governmental organisations.

The aim was to provide much-needed medical, dental, legal and social services free of charge to community members of Windsor.

Professional service entities set up their stalls to assist residents.

A number of residents have benefited from this initiative since its inception with a number of organisations committing themselves.

One of the main organisers, Grant Walton, said the initiative was successfully running for the fifth consecutive year. “This is our second year at the recreation centre and we added children’s programmes to serve the community,” he said.

Walton explained that they brought services that were not easily accessible to many residents and free of charge.

“Hundreds of people attended the event and we are grateful for all the support. Obviously, this is quite a great thing to organise and we will try and do it more often.”
