According to a Facebook post by the Pink Ladies Organization for missing children the 17-year-old is safe and sound.

Brittany Barnes was reported missing after going for a walk around 4pm on 17 April.

When contacted, Andrew Barnes, the teen’s father confirmed that Brittany had indeed been found.

“We are now at the police station waiting for her to be released into our care,” said Barnes. “She suffers from bipolar disorder and she has been off her medication for ten days.”

The relieved father added that as soon as the teen was released, she would be rushed to a psychiatric facility for evaluation.

“I am so blown away by the support that we have received. My eyes have been opened to the rainbow nation that we truly are.”
