An intensive operation conducted by Honeydew police officers yielded positive results after nine suspects were arrested for possession of dagga.
On 13 January, police were conducting their operational duties when they arrested the suspects, who are between the ages of 20 and 46. The majority of the suspects were nabbed either in Cosmo City or Honeydew.
Spokesperson for Honeydew Police Station, Captain Balan Muthan said the suspects are expected to appear in the Randburg and Roodepoort Magistrates’ Courts.
The mastermind behind the operation, Honeydew’s Crime Prevention Commander Colonel Johan Theunissen, said he is adamant to decrease the drug level in the policing precinct. “Our operations are still ongoing and we are going to clamp down on drugs, focusing on Cosmo City, Zandspruit and Honeydew.”
