Ward 104 councillor’s Christmas wish list

FERNDALE – Ward 104 councillor Mike Wood wishes residents a wonderful festive season.

Councillor Mike Wood believes that he is blessed to be re-elected to lead ward 104 for the second consecutive term.

“It is indeed an honour to serve the residents once again,” he said.

Wood revealed his Christmas wish list for Ward 104:

  •  A long-term solution to the ever-growing trend of homeless people in the ward
  •  Win the battle against the evil of drug abuse so that lives can be renewed
  •  Make a meaningful dent in the high unemployment rate throughout the ward
  •  Win the war against illegal dumping
  •  Regain our open spaces for the enjoyment of the residents.

He encouraged residents to link up with their local residents’ associations, street committees and community policing forums. He said this could build a strong community involvement and would benefit residents in the whole ward.

“The resources that the City has are limited but the needs are ever increasing. Please join me in the New Year as we work to take our ward to even greater heights,” he said.

Wood wished all Christian residents a very blessed Christmas. “May the joy, the wonder, but above all, the miracle of His birth, be revealed to you all in a special way this Christmas. To all the residents, may you have a wonderful and relaxing time, with your families, over this period,” he said.

He cautioned residents who will be travelling to various destinations this festive season to take great care while driving.

“Wishing you all a wonderful and prosperous New Year for 2017 and looking forward to meeting up with you all in the ward next year,” he concluded.
