JOBURG – Today is world adoption day and we celebrate what a family means.
World Adoption Day makes all smile cheek to cheek.
There is nothing more heartwarming than the love of family, and on 15 November the world pays tribute to the importance of this unmatched love.
The day calls all to not only celebrate family but also to raise awareness for adoption.
The World Adoption Day site explained that the day is to raise funds to support families in their adoption. Ambassadors from all walks of life, across the world, host events that mark the special day. Be it an event or a party the plan is to get people together, loving each other company and reveling in the thought that one does not need to be biologically related to have a strong sense of what family is all about.
To mark the day, people took to social media to spread the cheer by drawing smiley faces on their hands. The initiative asked that people post pictures of themselves either with their friends or family with the hashtag, #WorldAdoptionDay.
