MUST READ: Victim shot during Joburg north armed robbery

JOHANNESBURG NORTH – One victim was shot and is in hospital.

Douglasdale Police and the Neighbourhood Watch responded to another armed robbery in Conduit Street.

Three male suspects, two of them armed, entered a family home at approximately 8pm last night (21 October).

Douglasdale Police and the Neighbourhood Watch were called to the scene by a neighbouring resident.

Stand-by spokesperson for the Johannesburg West Police Cluster, Captain Mtila-Dikolomela said, “Three suspects gained entry into the premises because the doors were left unlocked. Two of the male suspects were armed.”

She added that the occupants of the home were ordered to lie down. Seven cell phones, two laptops and three tablets were stolen from the victims.

“One victim was shot in the foot and is currently being treated at Netcare Olivedale Hospital, he is in stable condition,” said Capt Dikolomela.

No arrests have been made and a case of robbery at a household and attempted murder has been opened at Douglasdale Police Station.

This is the second robbery in the same street this week.
