Clean water gushes down the street as pipe suddenly bursts
COSMO CITY – JW shuts down the water supply following a massive burst pipe.
Johannesburg Water was expected to shut off the water supply to Cosmo City on 2 September following a massive burst pipe.
The entity’s marketing and communications manager, Tidimalo Chuene said Joburg Water was aware of the burst, which was reported in the morning. “Our repairs team is on site. They are shutting off supply to cut on further water losses and also allow them to work on the affected pipe,” she said.
She indicated that areas that were affected by the shutdown are Cosmo City and Cosmo Creek. “We are unable at the moment to give an estimate of completion time; however, the team on site is pulling all available resources to repair the burst pipe as soon as possible,” she said. The entity also apologised for the inconvenience caused to consumers and road users.
