Gospel artist releases debut album

FERNDALE - Up and coming artist set to take over gospel world.

Up and coming gospel artist Bongani Khumalo is set to take the gospel music industry by storm after releasing his debut album.

Khumalo who hails from Kwa-Zulu Natal said that he had waited for a long time as he had started singing when he was in high school.

“When I started singing I did not know how to hold a note or hit the right keys but after some time and lots of practice I have honed my skill,” he said.

Khumalo pointed out that he had found solace and comfort in the church whilst growing up in a small town called Folweni with his brothers and sisters.

“I had a difficult childhood as my siblings and I were raised by my single parent mother but through prayer and hard work I completed my high school and went on to get a qualification in engineering,” he added.

His ten-track album titled Sibongi Mvana (We thank Jesus) was released on 4 June at Ka Restaurant in Bordeaux where he was supported by other gospel artists. Khumalo, a Ferndale resident is currently not signed to any record label as he was inspired by hip-hop artist Casper Nyovest to release his album independently. He explained that his album would encourage listeners to face up to their daily challenges and realise that there is a Higher Power. “I started writing and recording songs for my album last December and very soon I will be touring touring around the country to promote my album and get it out to the public,” he said.

Khumalo explained that he was able to release his album with the support of his wife Senzy who is his biggest supporter.

If anyone would like a copy of the album they can contact Khumalo directly.
