Children learn business skills

BORDEAUX – It is a hive of activity in the park as children enjoy the first Kid's Market in Bordeaux.

Scores of children flocked to Bordeaux South Park to showcase their business skills during the first Kid’s Market in the suburb.

The little ones brought their goods and to sell them. The park was a hive of activities with face painting for children, pony rides and jumping castles adding to the fun.

Claire McPhail from Bordeaux South Resident’s Association (BSRA) said residents in their community were very involved and enthusiastic about the issues of the community.

“We have a very active committee who looks after everything in the suburb from security to events. Throughout the year we try to have a number of events at our flagship park, to get the residents out and about and into the spirit of things,” she said.

Parents assisted their children to set up tables as most of them brought their own decorations, signage, and goodies for display and sale.

“There was a fantastic turnout by the community as well as people from surrounding suburbs and the atmosphere was absolutely wonderful,” she concluded.
