Robbers target internet café in the early morning hours

WINDSOR EAST – Police are looking for two robbers who escaped with a large amount of cash

The police are on the lookout for two men who held up and robbed two people of a large sum of money at an internet café.

One of the suspects was armed.

Captain Alex Vermaak from the Linden Police Station confirmed that the police have opened a case of business robbery after the incident at the 24-hour internet café on the corner of Duchesses Avenue and Beatrice Street, Windsor East.

He said the robbery took place at around 1am on 2 May.

According to Vermaak the two suspects robbed an employee at the internet café as well as a customer of an estimated R17 000.

He confirmed that one of the suspects was armed. Vermaak added that the police would like to urge shop owners to close their shops earlier. He also asked anybody with more information about the incident to contact the Linden Police immediately.
