The Waste Management Company of the City of Joburg, Pikitup announced that household refuse collection and garden sites will operate as normal during the public holiday period.
The two upcoming public holidays on 27 April and 2 May, will see normal service delivery.
Residents whose refuse collection coincides with these public holidays are advised to put out their bins for collection as per their normal refuse schedule.
All 42 gardens sites will be fully operational during these public holidays, from 8am to 5pm. Residents who may have recyclable waste during this period should use these sites to dispose of such waste. After the public holidays, normal refuse collection rounds will continue in accordance with the normal collection schedule.
Remember, waste is not simply something we throw away; it has economic value in the recycling economy.
