The St Stithians Boys College rugby 1st team triumphed over Cliffton College in a pulsating rugby match at the St Stithans College Easter Sports Festival.
A large crowd gathered to watch a spectacular game between the two schools on 28 March, which St Stithians won 46 – 21.
Cliffton scored the first try of the game, which St Stithians matched shortly afterwards. Neither team could convert their first tries, which left the score even at 5 – 5. In the 60-minute game, St Stithians came to dominate the first half by scoring freely.
The home side put on a strong attacking side which forced Cliffton to defend.
Head coach of St Stithians 1st team, Jonathan Bale said, “It was a scrappy game, with some frustrating 50/50 passes, but it was a good game of rugby and a great sports festival.”
