One suspect was shot during a robbery at business premises in Strijdom Park this afternoon.
Randburg Police spokesperson Constable Bopape said police chased the suspects who started shooting at them after committing a robbery.
He could not divulge the exact circumstances of the robbery but confirmed that three suspects were arrested.
One of the suspects was slightly injured and was taken to hospital.
The police confirmed that four suspects were involved in the shootout. “We recovered one unlicensed firearm,” he said.

ER24 spokesperson Russel Meiring said one man was injured in the shooting incident on the N1 highway near Malibongwe turnoff.
“ER24 paramedics were returning to their branch when they came across the incident. On inspection, paramedics found a male patient lying in the slow lane of the highway,” he explained.
He said that on assessment paramedics found that the patient had sustained moderate injuries to his head.
“ER24 paramedics treated the patient and thereafter transported him to a nearby hospital for further treatment,” he concluded.
