Crime awareness in Bryandale Primary School

KENSINGTON B – Children from Bryandale Primary School were advised to leave their toys at home.

Randburg Police recently visited Bryndale Primary School to educate the young ones about crime trends that usually occur in and around the school premises.

Sector 2 manager Constable Mahawe Dlodlo addressed pupils about theft. He also advised them to keep their school lockers locked at all times.

Dlodlo discussed the problem of theft out of a motor vehicle with them, as it was established that this trend was a problem at school parking lots as well as shopping centres.

He then asked pupils to respect other pupil’s possessions and refrain from taking non-essential items such as toys with them to school. “Rather leave those toys at home,” he said.

Police spokesperson Constable Stanley Bopape said it was important for children to know about crime trends while they were still young as this would help them distinguish between what was wrong and right.
