City Power working to restore power in Linden
JOBURG – Following a severe lightning storm across Joburg on 21 December several suburbs were left in the dark.
The widespread blackouts were caused by the lighting which affected four substations.
City Power quickly reacted and dispatched teams to the affected substations to restore power as soon as possible. Late last night 95 percent of the power lost due to the storm had been restored.
However, Linden is still left without power due to the lightning that struck one of the insulators at the Roosevelt substation.
City Power tweeted that the estimated time of restoration is four hours and promised to notify residents if this changes.
Linden, Northriding & Fairland: the Roosevelt sub-station is experiencing line problems we have a team dedicated to restoring power.^BM
