GALLERY: SA Bachelor finalist holds star-studded event
LINDEN – Wayne Stafford exceeds expectations with celebrity fundraiser.
When Linden resident Wayne Stafford plans an event, it goes off without a hitch. On 1 September, RoomFive in Rivonia played host to the SA Bachelor finalist’s black tie fundraiser, Dinner with the Stars.
The event was held to raise funds for Stafford’s selected charities – Louis Botha Children’s Home, Amadea House of Safety and Foodbank SA.
Businesswoman Edith Venter hosted the event which included a fashion show and entertainment by Jacqui Carpede, Jak de Priester and Simpl3 Stori3s.
Models for the fashion show included former Mr South Africa John Owen, current Mr South Africa Armand du Plessis and former SA Bachelorette Adré Swart. Roodepoort resident and SA Bachelorette finalist Lee Nagel was present to show support as were current SA Bachelor Guy Saben and runner-up Johan Anker. Competition judges Brenda Dooge and Karen van Huyssteen as well as competition founder and Copperstone Promotions Director, Jacques Momberg attended the event.
Stafford said, “The event exceeded my expectations in terms of production and the feedback from the guests was extremely positive. It was lovely how much awareness was raised for the respective charities and our fundraising auction went very well. The support from RoomFive, the celebrity guests and the performing artists has been fantastic.”
Stafford intends to make Dinner with the Stars an annual fundraising event.
