Four men caught with firearms

RANDBURG – Four men were arrested by Metro Police along William Nicol Drive and N1 and they will appear in the Randburg Magistrates' Court soon.

Four men aged between 22 and 30 were arrested along William Nicol Drive on 6 August.

Randburg Police spokesman Constable Stanley Bopape said a Metro Tracing Unit police officer based in Sandton, was on duty when he spotted a green Mercedez Benz C-Class at about 10am.

“The officer on duty searched the four males and discovered two revolver firearms, one magazine, 22 live rounds of ammunition, one balaclava, two pairs of gloves and five cellphones.

“The four are expected to appear in the Randburg Magistrates’ Court facing possession of unlicensed firearms and ammunition,” said Bopape.
