RANDBURG – Pieter Toerien and KickstArt present 'Little Shop of Horrors' at Montecasino.

Little Shop of Horrors entertains audiences again at the Pieter Toerien’s Montecasino Theatre.

Little Shop of Horrors delights die-hard fans of the carnivorous plant and Seymour in the first stage production since the original in 1984.

The cast are all local actors with some serious rock stars.

Alan Committie plays Seymour, feeder of Audrey II.

Michael Richard stars as Mr Mushnik, the tackles owner of the flower shop and employer.

Candice van Listsenborgh plays Audrey, Seymours ditzy love bird.

The story starts in a little florist shop in downtown New York.

The audience is introduced to the weird and wonderful part of the show, when the store inadvertently fosters a man-eating plant named Audrey 11.

The stage production was adapted from the original film written by Howard Ashman and directed by Roger Corman.

The production is impeccable with amazing supporting cast who left goose bumps after every song.

Costumes and stage design are excellent and accurately captured the look and feel of the typical ’50s pop culture.

It follows hilarious cues of hit genres like Sci-Fi and meshed with a little horror, comedy, of course a love triangle (between plant and two humans) and musical.

The show is set to run until 9 August at the Pieter Toerien’s Montecasino Theatre.
