Why are people in Gauteng penalised?

SHARONLEA – The reader is complaining about e-toll payment and argues that Gauteng people are the only ones being penalised.

Arlene Chaperon of Sharonlea writes:

Big deal! So now Cyril Ramaphosa is going to halve the e-toll tariffs and those who don’t pay up will have their licences put on hold!

Does he think we are school children?

Does he really think this is going to get us to now pay?

NO WAYS

We will continue to boycott this ridiculous system!

So then, we may as well drive around with expired licences and they will lose further revenue.

87 per cent of Gautengers are not paying and we will continue not to pay.

I hope that Ramaphosa will be awarded the “Mampara of the Week” certificate.

Why should we Gautengers be penalised [while] the rest of the country don’t have e-tolls and life carries on for them as usual?

This is a major unconstitutional faux pas!

I’m sure the rest of us Gautengers feel the same way!

This statement has just made us angrier rather than compliant.

Do the only practical thing as already suggested in the past – put a small levy on the petrol price then everyone is treated equally and the e-toll debacle can be dealt with in the correct manner!
